The Philippines Australia Business Council held its February General Membership Meeting on 28 February 2020 with resource speaker Dr. Mario Aurelio, Ph. D. (Structural Geology and Tectonics), M.Sc. (Geodynamics of Oceans and Continents), who spoke on the topic "Of Earthquakes and Volcanoes". Dr. Aurelio is the Director of the University of the Philippines National Institute of Geological Sciences.

He is part of the government team monitoring and studying the Taal Volcano eruption.
